Pangbourne was launched in 1987 as the first property loan stock company. Pangbourne listed with a total market capitalisation of R140 million and few properties in the portfolio. Since listing, the market capitalisation has grown exponentially with over R11 billion of properties and the portfolio has been increased to 350 properties. Pangbourne’s strategy is to increase its focus on the industrial and office sectors of the property market in geographic nodes or areas that are considered to have superior long term potential. The strategy is to invest in dominant nodes tenanted predominantly by significant and national tenants.
In addition, Pangbourne owns certain listed property securities. The holding in listed securities, however, is being reduced as consolidation of Pangbourne is finalised.
Various strategic initiatives have been implemented, including consolidating the group and outsourcing the property management to specialists in the field.
